Problematic... Too... Two... To?

A few posts ago, I mentioned a dilemna of the financial variety.

I appreciate everyone's input. I agreed w/ the general concensus that I should drop that job. A no-brainer, really.

Well, I gave notice to my manager last weekend. Then yesterday, I had to work again, and she shocked me! She said that she could get me transfered to the store location closest to me (which is only two blocks from where I teach). She ALSO said that she could most likely get me a promotion to part-time Assistant Store Manager.

AWESOME! ... Or is it? I'm not sure what to do! Will it be too much added stress? Will the responsibilities be too much? What if they say they'll keep my hours low during the school year... but then BAM! start working me every night shift under the sky, plus all weekend!

But it would be so cool to be able to get the pay raise, and work 40 hours over the summer. I can save up A LOT of cashola for a car!

I don't know what to do!!! I'm going in Thursday to talk to the store manager of this new location (my current store manager told me to wait a day or so till she could pitch it to the district manager). What to do, what to do?

Any help guys?

Well that changed quickly. Now it sounds like it might be worth staying.

I agree--if you aren't driving all over the place, you could give this new thing a try. In the old store you liked the nice people who worked there, so you would have to give the new bunch a try and see if you like them. Also, if you want to save and you have a closet full of clothes, you would have to be careful about clothing purchases. I say it is a whole new ball game, and REALLY nice that they like you so much and want your help.

I say, go for it! You won't know what it's like until you try it out, and if it's too much work you can always step down to a regular associate again.

Go for it...try it and see..if it gets too hectic maybe they can get short term coverage for when you're swamped with schol..as in Report Cards!!! They clearly value you as an employee. Maybe explain to then your possible concerns.

Wow, that IS awesome! I say go for it! At least you know you'll have something for the summer and because it's so close by, it should also cut down on your travelling time and then make life easier and not more stressful.

After you meet with her, if the manager position isn't what you're looking for, at least you can fall back on the original position offered. Like someone else said, they clearly do value you and want you there!

Thanks guys for the advice! I decided to take a job at the new store, but as a normal associate, not as assistant manager.

I'm excited about it!
