My Birthday is SPECIAL!

I've been tagged! Rapunzel from Rapunzel's Castle tagged me for this Wikipedia Meme. What fun! But don't fret! There's still a question for all to answer!

This is the way it works:

1. Go to Wikipedia and type in the month and day you were born.
*For me--October 22nd.

2. List three events that occurred that day:
*4004 BC - Date the universe was created according to British Archbishop James Ussher after using the Bible's chronology to calculate the date. (Yay! God created the world on my birthday!)
*1844 - The Great Anticipation: Millerites, followers of William Miller, anticipated the end of the world in conjunction with the Second Advent of Christ. The following day became known as the Great Disappointment. (I'm glad they were disappointed, or else I wouldn't be here!)
*1964 - Jean-Paul Sartre is awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, but turns down the honor. (Can you imagine turning down a Nobel Prize?!?! I know he was doing it for "noble" reasons, but still! [pun intended!])

3. List two important birthdays:
*1942 - Annette Funicello, American actress (I learned how to spell "mouse" from watching the Mickey Mouse Club!)
*1968 - Shaggy, Jamaican musician (I LOVE his song "It Wasn't Me!" It was O-The-Rage in college!)

4. List one death:
*1934 - Pretty Boy Floyd, American gangster (b. 1904) (Crime don't pay!)

5. Tag five friends to do the same: (If they want to!)
*Becky (yeah, I know we have the same birthday, but there's lots of other people/evetns to choose from!)
*Raj (Since you mentioned enjoying Wikipedia!)
*Silverneurotic
*Liya
*Skittles

Since we're talking about birthdays, share w/ us your best birthday memory. Oh, wait! In a manner just like Jeopardy, that must be phrased in a question! How about this:

What is your best birthday memory? (Much better!)

My date : Nov 16th

Event: "1885 - Canadian rebel leader of the Métis and "Father of Manitoba", Louis Riel is executed for treason." -- I remember learning about him in history class!

Birthday: "1930 - Chinua Achebe, Nigerian author" - Last year I had to write an essay on a book he wrote :)

Death: "1272 - King Henry III of England (b. 1207)" -- just cause he's one of the Henry's and I didn't really recognize any of the other names lol.

& what about the category Holidays and Observances - cause I got "The Annual Great American Smokeout" (which I had to click on to find out more) and it's a day encouraged to not smoke.

That was fun!

I've had many wonderful birthdays but the most exciting was my 6th birthday when my mom surprised me by taking me to see Elvis in concert! I was such a huge little Elvis fan, I was beside myself with joy. I still remember standing up on my seat so I could see him better! A definite once-in-a-lifetime memory for me.
