BFF?

I know we all have our "Best Friends Forever." Those whom we can confide in, spend time together being silly and serious. Gotta love those BFF's.

But what if your BFF doesn't consider you a BFF?

I see it quite often in Kindergarten. Suzy and Riana are mutual BFF's. However, Molly wants Riana to be her BFF. Poor Molly deals w/ it by crying, hitting, yelling, conniving, lying. By golly, she's only FIVE! Riana likes Molly just fine, but not as a BFF. She could take her or leave her. It's kind of sad.

As we get older, it's harder for us to express our feelings. We really can't go around crying, hitting, and yelling. However, the conniving does get more developed! What crafty, naughty people we all can be!

Have you ever had a situation where you considered someone your BFF, but later found out the feeling wasn't mutual? Or did you ever have a mutual BFF, but were replaced? How did you react? How did you cope?

I figured we had a lot of silly, funny questions lately. It was time for a serious, thought-provoking question! We'll get back to the silly ones soon enough!

I will now prove how much "strawberry shortcake" my daughter watches...

Peppermint Fizz is a horrible, mean little girl. Each time I see her, I want to curse her out. [Of course, I dont b/c my daughter is listening.] But I can tell that, underneath her mean exterior, she just wants the others to like her and be her friend.

So odd.

I was replaced my freshman year of high school...by a total well, you know what...and unfortanately by the time my bff realized what a *insert bad word* her new bff was, she (my friend) moved away. I still hate that chick today, I saw her in a store back a few weeks ago and I felt my blood pressure go up a bit.

I was such a geek in middle school, absolutely not part of the popular crowd. In a private Christian school where the population is...oh..100 or so, the cliques certainly stood out. So, you can imagine my thrill when the head cheerleader aka "IT girl" took an interest in little ol' me! One Saturday night we actually had a sleepover where we did each other's hair, giggled over boys, etc. and she proclaimed me her BF..oh the joy of it! Apparently she did not include the the last "F" because on Monday morning she acted as if she didn't know me at all. Totally shunned me as if it never happened. I was devastated!

I retaliated a few years later when I surpassed my Ugly Duckling stage and stole her hunky boyfriend, but that's another story. *evil grin*

I've always had a few best friends so am lucky. I gave my little younger friend, a kid I used to teach in Gr. 3 and who is now in Gr. 8, earrings like in your picture here, one half for her and I kept the other 1/2.

I am not the kind of person that has lots of friends. So, thankfully the people that I would consider BFs have been most of my life. My BF has been so for 13 years!

Congrats on the Review by Skittles!

A few years ago, we bought property and began building our house just down the street from my good friend (I had 3 bff's, she was one). Hubs and I thought it would be great to be living so close to them. Two months into construction she confessed to me that for the three years we had been close friends, she -and her husband- never liked me -or my hubs- and never wanted us as their neighbors. We still don't talk. Which is weird because I get along with EVERYONE!
