Thanks For Your Sympathies!

Sorry if I worried anyone w/ my last post!

I've been SOOOO stressed out the past few weeks, and Friday was the worst! In February, all the classes at my school study a different country. We have to decorate the entire room to look like that country. It takes a lot of time and hard work. My class studied Japan (hence my Zwinky in the sidebar looks like a Japanese geisha).

February is the worst month of the year for this. We have Groundhog's Day, Winter Festival, the 100th Day of School, Valentine's Day, President's Day, and various snow days. Horrible month!

Anyway, Friday night was the culmination of it all. That night, there was a huge performance, then the parents, etc. went from room to room to look at the decorations. Which means my classroom needs to be super-cleaned! Eek!

Thursday night I was at school until half-past midnight! Then Friday, I worked up until the minute of the beginning of the performance. Stressful!

But the end result was great! I did have fun, and I feel MUCH better now.

And the best part is...

It's snowing now, which is going to change to sleet later today into Monday midmorning, which means...

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!! (hopefully)

Question time...

If you could live in any place in the world, where would it be?

***Social Studdies Lesson***

The top left picture is me in my kimono, standing in front of the 3-D cherry blossom tree that I made. I squirted the paper flowers w/ cherry blossom perfume so it would smell real. The tree took me about 3 hours to make.

The top right picture is of a volcano. Japan has several active volcanoes. Mt. Fuji is actually an inactive volcano. This took me about 45 minutes to maketo make.

The bottom left picture is my classroom door decorated to be a Japanese house. By the house is a pole w/ fish kites attached. These kites are flown on "Children's Day." This house took me SIX HOURS!!!

The bottom right picture is of the door of the second Kindergarten class. They also studied Japan. The door decorated to be a torii, or a gateway into a shrine.

I know this is a really dumb comment, but you look exactly like Becky lol.. yes, yes I know... :D

Your pictures are great, thanks for sharing them :) It reminds me of my grade 2 teaching placement where the classes were all decorated to a different theme. It took forever to do so I feel your pain, but it definitely looks like it paid off for you!

I'm actually praying that school isn't cancelled tomorrow because I have the library booked for my classes to be taught by the teacher librarian and I don't want to lose my spot!!

Wow! It looks so great! What a dedicated teacher you are! Parents and kids will remember this. Hope you have a snow day tomorrow! I used to hope for those like crazy!

~liya~ How about we hope I have no school, but you do! We can both be happy, then... Oh, and no, that's not a "really dumb comment."

~MOI~ I hope they remember it... I know I will!

Do yall like my new template? I had fun/stress making it! Took me about 4 hours... Does anything need fixing? I played around with fonts and colors. Is it ok? Lemme know!

Oh my, your hard work paid off. Your classroom and especially the door looks beautiful. You also look just like the real deal.

I think your students are very lucky.

So, are you having that bad weather day?

If I could be anywhere it would be Hawaii..

~Becks~ I, too, would not like living in Lancaster... But, it isn't too terribly horrible.

~Cathy~ Hawaii would be GREAT! Quite the opposite of freezin' cold PA.

Oh, and no Snow Day... We did have a 2 hour delay, which was ok... gave me time to sleep in a bit.

I would want to live in PA. I love this state- It's beautiful! However, I would love to travel all over the world!

I have always wanted to live in Australia. I had a similar project back in first grade and our class studied Australia and since then I've been slightly obsessed with the country and culture.

My favorite-place-to-live changes every time I go on vacation! *grin* Right now I'm longing for the turqoise waters and slow-paced living of Bimini. My Sweetie and I looked at property when we were there last, so you never know!

Your classroom looks great...if only my kids had teachers that dedicated...

If I could live anywhere in the world huh?? Well it's kinda hard with me..I'm a military wife and have been ALOT of places..I think I just want somewhere to call home and make mine now.

~gr~ Yeah, I know... I rock! But really... I'm glad that I have an artistic person's approval!

~silverneurotic~ You're still obsessed w/ Australia even after so many years? Cool! Maybe my kids will remember Japan.

~rapunzel~ Totally go for it! I'm so jealous!

~b,m,m,h,y~ You made me smile! Yay! ... That must be kinda hard for you, not having a place to call yours. Just think how much more appreciative you'll be when you finally get there!
